Award-Winning Elegance: Celebrating Our 2019 Vintage with 96 Points!

We are incredibly grateful and thrilled to share the news — Wine Enthusiast has honored our 2019 vintage wines with outstanding scores, and we are overjoyed with the recognition!

2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Awarded an exceptional 96 points! Described by Wine Enthusiast’s Matt Kettmann as “thick and nearly opaque in the glass,” this bold wine opens with “dense aromas of cocoa, hard spice and baked black fruit.” The “creamy mouthfeel” is wrapped in “tannins that will last seemingly forever,” while flavors of “black cherry, bittersweet cocoa and graphite hold the attention deep into the finish.”

2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon – 93 Points

Kettmann describes it as having “clean and dark aromas of blackberry, toasted wood, warm pastry and a hint of purple flower.” The palate offers a “creamy mouthfeel… framed by firm tannic edges,” with flavors of “blackberry, cocoa and pepper."

2019 Four Chords – 93 Points

This Bordeaux-style blend opens with “freshly smashed boysenberry, black raspberry and red flower aromas,” while the “palate’s tightly wound structure elevates the boysenberry, latte and cocoa nib flavors.”

2019 Silken – 92 Points

A rich and layered blend, noted for its “aromas of dark fruit, wood spice, and caramel,” delivering “well-rounded flavors of blueberry, blackberry, purple flower and wood… wrapped in fine tannins on the palate."

From all of us at Parrish Family Vineyard — thank you to Wine Enthusiast and reviewer Matt Kettmann for recognizing the heart and craftsmanship behind these wines. And thank you to our community and guests who continue to support and celebrate each vintage with us!

We are proud of what the 2019 vintage represents: a culmination of thoughtful farming, detailed winemaking, and the special terroir of our vineyards. We invite you to come taste these wines for yourself and celebrate this incredible milestone with us!

Cheers,

There are a lot of options and factors that make barrel decisions complex for the winemaker. It is an important decision as the chosen vessel will direct the structure and flavor profile of the wine.

The 2024 vintage was a hot vintage with an extremely warm and long Summer in Paso Robles. We began harvest on August 30th with our Sauvignon Blanc and completed harvest on October 16th with Petite Sirah and Grenache. To give us a little more insight, we caught up with Winemaker, Cody Alt to learn more about the vintage. How did the hot weather impact the harvest? Cody: It was reminiscent of the 2022 vintage. Our yields were lower for us as well as most of Paso Robles. David said it is not uncommon for vines to auto-regulate after a high-yield year. Last year (2023) we had a much milder Summer and a cool Fall, which increased our yield.
